Kaila Leidreiter
Kaila is an eager second year Vet student conducting her studies at the University of Queensland (UQ), Gatton. She was destined to work in the veterinary industry, starting her first job in a vet clinic at the tender age of thirteen. Kaila has a keen interest in reptiles and animal reproduction. She started her studies at UQ, Gatton doing two years of Veterinary Technology before moving to Brisbane to start her Bachelor of Veterinary Science this year. Kaila is well traveled, she was involved in community development work in Kenya and raising baby lion cubs in Zimbabwe. She has also worked in the Veterinary Quarantine Centre at Taronga Zoo.
She is often found dodging peak hour traffic to pick up scaly, furry or feathered friends in need of help and can care for wildlife with competence. Kaila has a very cheeky cavalier puppy called "Anoki" who is adored by all who meet her. She's been a typical vet's dog and so far has had an eye ulcer, eaten a razor, has dodged horse's hooves and been chomped by a big dog. She is Kaila's constant companion and loves travelling with Kaila between Gatton and Cabarita. She can often be spotted in the vet surgery on weekends, working with Kaila.
